Staples is liquidating its Torrance, California store with 189 lots of Madix retail shelving, merchandise fixtures, and back-of-house equipment, closing May 14. The full buildout at 22025 Hawthorne Blvd, from gondola shelving and pallet racking through office furniture and break room appliances, is going to auction.
Madix anchors the catalog. Over a thousand feet of double-sided gondola shelving runs in 80 to 120-foot configurations with pegboard backing, overspan racking, and integrated lighting, alongside Madix wall shelving and teardrop pallet racking. On the equipment side, a 2009 PTR 1800 HD cardboard baler and a 2020 IPC 464 walk-behind vacuum sweeper handle the back-of-house, and a freestanding metal office pod with a frosted glass door (102"L x 120"W x 88"H) leads the office buildout. A 2018 Frigidaire reach-in, Hon filing cabinets, La-Z-Boy and Voxx office chairs, and 42 to 52-foot laminate service counters round out the catalog.
Independent retailers, warehouse operators, and small-business buyers building out office space will all find lots that turn through brokers at multiples of auction prices.
